Open spaces
Due to data inconsistencies, open spaces may be shown as overlapping blocks.
Buildings
Building footprint data is not available for all blocks. Where data is available, it is sourced from the following:
- OpenStreetMap (OSM)
- ACT Government (ACTGOV_BUILDING_FOOTPRINTS)
The tool searches OSM first. If no OSM data is found, it falls back to the ACT Government dataset.
The ACT Government dataset is best suited to multi-unit developments. It is less reliable for single dwellings and may not reflect the current state of the block.
Aerial imagery
The aerial underlay is sourced from the ACT Government open data portal (ACT Aerial Imagery Current). Imagery is captured by MetroMap at approximately 7.5cm resolution and updated quarterly for urban areas. Licensed under CC-BY 4.0 © Australian Capital Territory and MetroMap. If ACT Government imagery is unavailable, a lower-resolution fallback is used.
Data sources & attribution
Spatial data is sourced from ACTmapi © Australian Capital Territory. Data is used under the ACTmapi Terms and Conditions. Use of this data does not imply endorsement by the ACT Government.
Building outline and contour data includes data from OpenStreetMap © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).
NCC Climate Zone data is sourced from the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB). NatHERS Climate Zone data is sourced from the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS).
